Action, Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Drama, Family, Sci-Fi The Iron Giant shall be remembered for centuries to come as one of the greatest animated classics of all time. Like most works that were considered to be "masterpiece," the title isn't only associated with its quality, but also what it accomplished at the time. "Citizen Kane" might not seem like a revolutionary story today, but it shaped the filmmaking industry itself for the rest of history. The same could be said for what The Iron Giant could have done in regards to animation industry had it not been for its poor marketing and commercial failure. And even with its flop, it's a fact that it offered a unique brand of philosophical storytelling that excelled beyond anything Disney or even Dreamworks have achieved at the time. Jul 05, 2019

Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi "Independence Day" hits home so well on many levels. It's really one of those big-scale productions where almost every part of the movie is quality and praiseworthy. I've tried my best to refrain myself from giving such a high rating, but the movie just kept on getting better with the last 40 minutes of the movie, building up bigger high-octane adrenaline with each scene. Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi How the hell did it turn from a quirky little science-fiction movie to a full-blown depressing piece of bleakness? Like, really, god, this shit makes Madoka Magica seem hopeful. Jul 05, 2019

Action, Sci-Fi Masterpieces throughout history have changed people's lives - The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, Citizen Kane - it comes as no surprise to me that a rather superficial movie like Terminator 2 should be that important to me on a personal level. The idea of 'fate' and 'destiny' the first two movies explored has always helped me struggle along my childhood, acting as a crutch. I know I had my share of seeing a harrowing future, perhaps one that's just as personal as nuclear holocaust. It helped that the film gave me an innocent ideal - regardless of its naivety - of being able to change my fate and my life by my own cause. "There is no fate but what we make for ourselves" remained as one of my favorite movie quotes of all time. I thank James Cameron for all of that, despite his shortcomings in filmmaking recently. Action, Adventure, Thriller Despite a few minor plot-holes, it's a great gritty reboot to the Bond franchise. It's always bothered me when many Bond movies didn't offer much character development (aside from Brosnan and Dalton's Bond, and maybe that Moore movie about the death of his newly wedded wife), so it's really a breath of fresh air when Martin Campbell decided to give a "Batman Begins" treatment for James Bond. Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Family, Fantasy It's rare that a third movie comes along and not only tells a better story than the second movie, but also wraps up the trilogy nicely with a beautiful little ribbon. The movie ended the way the first movie started - among the clouds of destiny, to infinity and beyond. Jul 05, 2019

Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Family, Fantasy Aside from its dark themes of child abandonment and immortality, aside from its amazing character development and non-stop entertainment scene after scene, Toy Story 2 is also an excellent sequel and a great anti-thesis to the points made in the first movie (What if Woody gets broken? What if Andy doesn't want to play with him anymore?). Jul 05, 2019
