With a new Jurassic World movie on the way, could Dominion's DeWanda Wise make a return to the franchise?
Don't Worry Darling's Olivia Wilde discusses the "wise" comment that Florence Pugh made.
Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale are genuine animation legends. Their first film as directors, Beauty and the Beast, was a runaway smash and the first animated feature to be nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award (it was up against JFK and ultimate winner The Silence of the Lambs). After Beauty and the Beast, they directed The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a true spiritual successor to Beauty and the Beast (there’s even a cameo from Belle in the opening number!) and the adventurous Atlantis: The Lost Empire, one of the last truly great traditionally animated movies at Disney. So …
Earlier today we spoke to Kirk Wise, legendary director (along with his creative partner Gary Trousdale) of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and The Hunchback of Notre Dame about the legacy of his sorely underrated Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Had Atlantis been the kind of sizable smash that Disney was hoping it would have been, it would have veered Disney into an alternate timeline of sorts. We’ll have more from that interview, and about how Atlantis’ success could have potentially changed the company forever, very soon. But for right now we just wanted to share something that Wise …
No time was wasted when Daniel Craig got down to parodying No Time to Die while hosting Saturday Night Live last night, March 7. Our favorite blond Bond kicked off his second SNL hosting gig — which comes eight years after he first hosted — with an opening monologue full of No Time to Die wisecracks. Craig's monologue kicked off with a fun joke about Phoebe Waller-Bridge's involvement on No Time to Die as one of the screenwriters. In a jokey example of the kind of dialogue one could expect to see in Bond 25 courtesy of the Fleabag …
Star Trek: Picard exhibited considerable restraint in not making Voyager's Kathryn Janeway the admiral who dresses down Picard in the latest episode.
DeWanda Wise (She's Gotta Have It) joins the Jurassic World 3 cast in a leading role, with Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt once again starring.
When Stranger Things first premiered back in 2016, it came out of nowhere. Even Netflix didn’t seem to realize what they had with this 80s-infused original series, which just kind of appeared and genuinely exploded thanks to good old-fashioned word of mouth. This wasn’t a hit that was predestined by marketing or pushed upon viewers by the streaming service. It succeeded because people found the show, liked it, and recommended it to others. But Season 1 was made in a vacuum. Creators/showrunners/directors/writers The Duffer Brothers had few credits to their name at the …
Now that the Game Of Thrones finale is in the books, we can look back in totality at the entire experience. We can seek out the nuggets of gold and the diamonds among the occasional rough from the action, the story, and in this case, the choice quotes. There was plenty of that aforementioned 'rough' in the journey of Jorah Mormont, the Bear Island export. As a perennial companion to Daenerys, he was often sought out for his advice and wisdom. However, the roller-coaster that was his journey meant that some of his wisest words fell on deaf ears, regardless of its value. Other nuggets of wisdom only became apparent in hindsight. Others could've changed the course of Westerosi history but no-one could've known that at the time. Nevertheless, here are the best and unfortunately most pitiable quotes from our man across the Narrow Sea, Jorah Mormont.
Spoilers ahead for Captain Marvel. Typically, in a Marvel movie, heroism is defined as self-sacrifice in order to save the world. Most Marvel heroes reach the climax of the movie, and in a moment of humility and selflessness, they risk their lives to protect others. And there’s nothing wrong with that being a definition for heroism. But it’s also a broad and repetitive way to depict a hero, and thankfully, Captain Marvel breaks free from that mold by giving specificity to Carol Danvers’ (Brie Larson) actions. For the first half of the movie, we’re led to … The post How ‘Captain Marvel’ Wisely Gives Specificity to Its Heroism by Defending Refugees appeared first on Collider.
Being over 2000 years old may mean you have a lot of grey hair, but it also means you have a wealth of life experience and the wisdom that comes with it. In The Lord of the Rings, Gandalf’s life takes place on a different scale than the other creatures of Middle Earth, allowing him to bear witness to the changing tides of the ages. Given everything he’s been through and the amount of knowledge he’s collected over the years, the members of the Fellowship often defer to him for counsel. Always one to deliver, Gandalf never hesitates to offer tidbits of wisdom to his companions, whether he’s musing on the punctuality of wizards or reflecting on the nature of life itself.
