This Top Gun theory takes our breath away. But Maverick's director talks about why he loves the conversation around Tom Cruise.
The Beekeeper is exactly as stupid as it should be, but the bad news is that the fun is undercut by a heavy current of grimness that leaves a taste that’s hard to wash out of your mouth

Home Entertainment's Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! I had a chance to sit down with writer/director/producer Maxwell Atoms (The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy) to chat about the latest holiday special for Mystery Inc. This flick features guest stars Bill Nye the Science Guy and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark along with the sleuth crew you know and love, but keep an eye out for some special guests along the …
I was not familiar with the case of Shanann Watts, her husband Chris, and their two children before seeing Jenny Popplewell’s documentary American Murder: The Family Next Door. To Popplewell’s immense credit, she is never exploitative about the case, instead using it as a way to frame how our online lives contrast against our private struggles, and how what may seem like the perfect family online is a thin veil for a tragic home life. With the word “Murder” in the title, the documentary isn’t really concerned with “whodunnit” or following various clues and threads. The grisly …
When I first reported on Hollywood, Ryan Murphy's (Glee, American Horror Story, every other show on television) upcoming throwback Netflix drama, all we had was a poster, a release date, and the tease of a grim-but-glamorous narrative ready to dismantle all our favorite silver-screen myths. But now, Netflix has unleashed a litany of first look images from the new show, featuring cast members like Samara Weaving, Jim Parsons, Laura Harrier, Darren Criss, Holland Taylor, Dylan McDermott, Patti LuPone, and many more. And if this show doesn't inspire a ton of Halloween costumes, I'll eat …
The sequel to DC's Dark Nights: Metal features a motorcycle riding death-inspired Batman wielding a scythe. It's extremely metal!
Orion has released a full trailer for the upcoming horror film, Gretel & Hansel. Based on the classic fairy tale, the story follows siblings Gretel (Sophia Lillis) and Hansel (Sammy Leakey) as they venture into the woods looking for work and food only to come across a terrifying witch (Alice Krige). As far as January horror releases go, this looks pretty solid. I like the horror imagery on display, and there seems to be an influence of gothic horror mixed with The Witch, so I’m very much here for that. The big question with these fairy tale adaptations is …
Netflix just dropped a batch of three new character posters for their upcoming dark fantasy series The Witcher, giving us a closer look at the main cast. With the show premiering in just over two weeks, the streaming giant is looking to kick the Witcher hype train into overdrive. The posters were released on Netflix’s official Witcher account (@WitcherNetflix) alongside brief two-line poems describing each character. It’s nerdy as shit, which is incredibly appropriate for the series considering Netflix just staged a Witcher fan event that was essentially a miniature Witcher-themed Renaissance Faire. https://twitter.com/…
