Filming a movie right now is a lot different than it was at the start of 2020.

NBC's classic series, A Different World, was an influential hit among audiences. These were the characters those fans loved the most.

A spin-off of The Cosby Show, the sitcom A Different World aired for six seasons from 1987 through to 1993. It was originally intended to center on the Cosby daughter Denise Huxtable (Lisa Bonet) and her life as a student at a fictional historically black college. But Bonet only appeared in the first season, leaving after becoming pregnant (with Zoe Kravitz!) And thus the series shifted its focus to Jasmine Guy’s character Whitley, a Southern belle, along with Dwayne Wayne, the nerdy friend (and eventual love interest) and her white roommate Maggie (Marisa Tomei).
