Don't mess with Marla Grayson's money, and don't mess with Rosamund Pike's appearance.
Both Rosamund Pike's characters are evil, but who is more evil?
It seems everyone is having a strong reaction to Rosamund Pike’s latest movie I Care A Lot, myself included. I watched it this weekend and swore out loud at several characters from the safety of my couch
One of the many films to world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival was writer-director J Blakeson’s I Care a Lot. The film follows a highly successful legal guardian (Rosamund Pike) and her partner (Eiza González) who manage a number of elderly “clients” for personal financial gain. Their racket is to place the senior citizen in an assisted living home and then to fleece them for all they are worth. When they attempt to do their routine with a seemingly innocent new client (Dianne Wiest), they get a lot more than they bargained for. …
By now, you may be passingly familiar with the guardianship grift in our country. Last Week Tonight even did an episode on how disturbingly easy it is for a stranger to gain control and exploit the life of a senior citizen for personal financial gain. J Blakeson takes this conceit and use it for his vicious, brutal new movie I Care a Lot, expanding the concept to show America as one big scam where the only active players are the predators. It’s a pointedly bleak starting point, but Blakeson and his cast handle the concept with a cool, detached …
In 1965, the very first Star Trek episode, “The Cage,” went into production as the initial realization of Gene Roddenberry’s idea for a “Wagon Train to the Stars.” But the captain chosen to lead this voyage wasn’t William Shatner’s James T. Kirk. Instead, the part of Captain Christopher Pike was played by Jeffrey Hunter. Shatner was ultimately the right choice to headline the original series alongside Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, Nichelle Nichols, and the rest of the cast. Star Trek wouldn’t be a global phenomenon without them. And yet the potential of a Star Trek series …

Studiocanal has released the first trailer for Radioactive. Directed by Marjane Satrapi (The Voices), the film stars Rosamund Pike as brilliant scientist Marie Curie and follows her groundbreaking research on the discovery of radioactivity. However, she must endure not only societal stagnation but the health costs of handling radioactive material. Adam Chitwood caught the movie at TIFF last year and gave it a positive review. In his review, he wrote: Satrapi gracefully lets the audience in on the impact of Curie’s work by intermittently intercutting short scenes depicting applications of Curie’s discovery decades later. These range from the …
