Lieutenant commander Arman An war is a Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) Special Force PASKAL Operative with illustrious service history. He led the team that freed the MV Bunga Laurel, a Malaysian chemical tanker hijacked by Somali pirates off the coast of Africa. He was also lauded as a national hero for his exploits under the UN Peacekeeping flag in Angola.

Arman is forced to choose between service for his country and care for his ailing mother, Khadijah. Having lost Arman’s father to the same cause, Khadijah has always been bitter about Arman’s choices and predicament. Khadijah also fears she would have to bury her son before herself in the same military graveyard where she had once buried her husband. Arman’s conflict only intensifies as he observes Lily, the widow of his fallen friend and comrade, struggle to raise a child on her own. Driven by guilt and remorse, Arman tenders his resignation as a field operative for a more stable desk job within the TLDM.
