At the luxurious home of renowned contemporary artist Erika Tracy, her 23-year-old lover Elliot finds her floating naked and unconscious in the pool.

Nine-and-a-half weeks earlier, a struggled, unemployed Elliott is living with his best friend Apple. Erika hires Elliot as an assistant in her studio, and he befriends fellow assistant Zap as they help produce Erika’s avant-garde, sexually explicit artwork. Elliot's girlfriend Minerva is uninterested in sex, and he begins to fantasize about Erika.
