Gwen

Gwen, a young farm girl in South Wales, plays hide and seek with her sister. As they return home, they pass a neighboring farmhouse where a group of men are tending to some dead bodies. The village doctor proclaims the entire family died of cholera. Later at dinner Gwen is chastised by her mother for being late and for burning supper. It is revealed during bed time that their father is not around for an unknown reason. That night Gwen awakes and hears some commotion in their sheep pasture. After failing to wake her mother, Gwen goes to check herself and is unable to see anything due to a storm.
