The Invitation

In an indeterminant year, a butler (Mr. Field), tells a lady (Emmaline) imprisoned in her room of an elaborate mansion to eat. Escaping her room, but unable to escape the manor, the woman kills herself before declaring "It all ends with me".

In modern New York City, struggling student artist Evelyn Jackson, "Evie", supports herself waitressing for a catering company with her best friend, Grace. Grace stole the pair of friends "swag bags" from their latest catering gig, which contain ancestry DNA kits. Evie, an orphan whose mother recently passed, longs for the connection of family and send the kit in.
