The final week of February is kicking off with a head-scratching tweet about the Oscar-favorite film Marriage Story courtesy of one Neil deGrasse Tyson. The astrophysicist and pop culture figure sent Twitter into a tizzy on Monday when he tweeted out a title he thought was more apt than the one created by the film's writer and director, Noah Baumbach. While many of us were getting ready for our Mondays, Tyson was busying himself crafting a tweet which would elicit some very strong reactions. Along with a photo of the Marriage Story poster, Tyson wrote, "The film '…

Have you seen Parasite? No?! Okay, drop everything you're doing and go see it. Like, now. We'll wait. Welcome back! It's a damn masterpiece, right? Right. And lucky for all of us, its director Bong Joon-ho, who also gave us damn masterpieces like The Host and Mother, hopped on to Reddit to participate in an AMA. If you've not heard of these before, it stands for "Ask Me Anything," and it allows Reddit users to ask a guest of note... well, anything! Joon-ho (with the help of a translator) tackled lots of questions big …
On November 29, no matter what I am doing and no matter who I am near, I am going to stop everything and everyone, and we are all going to sip hot cocoa and eat sugar cookies and watch The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show streaming on Amazon Prime. Perhaps in response to rival streaming service Netflix's A Very Murray Christmas, Amazon is centering a holiday special around another beloved cultural iconoclast. This time, it's Kacey Musgraves, the Grammy-winning, incredible musician known for acclaimed alt-country-rock works like Golden Hour. Her special, as evidenced by the trailer, …

What a curiosity HBO's Watchmen series is shaping up to be. Inspired by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' celebrated graphic novel of the same name, the new series from The Leftovers showrunner Damon Lindelof just dropped an Easter Egg-heavy trailer during SDCC that teased some unexpected to connections to the iconic graphic novel, while also revealing some alt-universe flourishes that promised a whole new spin on the material. A world where cops where masks, Rorschach inspired a racist cult, and Dr. Manhattan is still chilling on Mars. Turns out, that was just scratching the surface. Lindelof revealed …
Sharp Objects is both a book and a HBO Series. While the series made some changes from the book, core elements stayed the same.
Gillian Flynn’s novel Sharp Objects was adapted into a great miniseries. It had all the makings of an intriguing murder mystery. So, of course, when it hit the small screen we were beyond excited. It brought the grittiness of Wind Gap to life and make the characters even more jarring and broken than we imagined. The mystery was revealed in the last episode but it also left us with a few questions. Now, there are talks for a possible season 2 and let’s be clear, we need some pressing questions answered. There are a few stones left unturned about Adora, Amma, Marian and Camille that would get us a little closer to finding out who they really are. We know that Flynn probably did this on purpose but what’s the harm in answering them now?
Anyone who hasn't been living under a rock knows who Lord Voldemort is — known by a plethora of names aside from his chosen one such as He Who Must Not Be Named, You-Know-Who, the Dark Lord and even his birth name, Tom Riddle. He's the main antagonist of the Harry Potter series and for quite a solid chunk of the books, he remains a mystery. He has a serpentine face with a flat nose and red eyes (though not in the movies) and is described as being something that's not quite human — but how? How can a wizard not be human?
CANNES – As critics begin to discuss films that will end up on their best of the decade list, many are including Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life in their internal debates. The 2011 drama won the Palm d’Or, became the auteur’s second film to earn a Best Picture nomination and was something of a comeback after the disappointing New World six years earlier. Frustratingly, his last three star-filled creations have been what can only be described as a mess. In Knight of Cups, To The Wonder, and Song to Song, Malick’s aesthetic technique of moving …
