Battleship

In 2005, a planet designated "Planet G" is discovered to be a potentially habitable planet with conditions similar to Earth and a year later, a communications array designed to send transmissions to the planet to establish contact with any intelligent life is built by NASA in Oahu. Meanwhile, Alex Hopper (the main protagonist) is arrested while attempting to impress Sam Shane, the daughter of Admiral Terrance Shane, commander of the Pacific Fleet. Alex’s brother, Commander Stone Hopper, also a navy officer, forces Alex to join the U.S. Navy in order to improve his life.
