Nanouk and Sedna, a pair of old Yakut reindeer herders, now without a herd, live in a rustic yurt in the taigaarctic Siberian jelly for 50 years. Life flows according to ancestral traditions, in a simple and austere way, hardly punctuated by some visit of Chena who supplies them with snow scooters.
