Here's what we know (so far) about Wes Anderson's newest feature film, The French Dispatch.
From writer/director Francis Lee, the biographical drama Ammonite tells the story of palaeontologist Mary Anning (Kate Winslet), whose solitary work hunting and preserving fossils on the brutal Southern English coastline of Lyme Regis during the 1840s leads to a meeting with a young woman sent to convalesce by the sea. Charlotte (Saoirse Ronan), who is recovering from a personal tragedy that has left her feeling both lonely and disconnected from her husband, develops an intense relationship with Mary that makes them both feel less alone. During this 1-on-1 phone interview with Collider, Saoirse Ronan talked about what …

Wes Anderson is a fastidious filmmaker. We all know this. It's hard not to watch one of his confectionary creations, full of symmetrical images, controlled performances, and impeccable production design and come away with any other conclusion. But I would not call the auteur a maker of "epic movies." Until now. Because the composer of his latest film The French Dispatch, maestro Alexandre Desplat, just revealed to IndieWire how epic Anderson's scope gets. "I saw the finished version of ‘The French Dispatch’ quite a while ago, and it’s just amazing," gushed Desplat, making every film fan jealous …

It's been two years since Anderson has released a feature film (that'd be 2018's Isle of Dogs) and six years since he's released a live-action feature (the unforgettable 2014 Oscar-winner The Grand Budapest Hotel). Now, Anderson has rounded up some of his favorite day players and some new but similarly famous faces for The French Dispatch. Transporting viewers to the tiny, fictional French town of Ennui-sur-Blasé (heh), The French Dispatch "brings to life a collection of …

Wes Anderson's new movie, The French Dispatch, received a rating from the MPA (that's right, they dropped the extra "A") ahead of its trailer release tomorrow. The film is rated "R" for "graphic nudity, some sexual references and language." Plot details are scarce, but the film "brings to life a collection of stories from the fictional issue of an American magazine published in a fictional 20th-century French city." While Anderson has never shied away from sex in his movies, he's not really known for "nudity", so I wonder if he's really leaning into it, or …
