Advocate Ramanunni (Dileep) is an MLA who after getting expelled from his political party, the CDP, because of assaulting the State Secretary Ambady Mohan (Vijayaraghavan), joins the rival party, the NSP. Ramanunni, who has been receiving threats, decides to take a gun license for self-protection and this becomes a controversy.

Ramanunni's mother Ragini (Raadhika) disapproves of his decision to join the NSP as they come from a communist-oriented family. The NSP decides to field Ramanunni as their candidate in the upcoming elections. The decision is opposed by Udhyabhanu (Siddique), a veteran politician of the NSP. Ramanunni, along with his sidekick Thomas Chacko (Kalabhavan Shajon), attends an interview where Ambady Mohan assaults Ramanunni.
